Hi, The SCU Library has access to the Chicago Defender, Los Angeles Sentinel, and the Pittsburgh Courier. Our full list of newspaper databases is at https://libguides.scu.edu/az.php?t=8396. SCU does not subscribe to the Black Historical Newspapers database. You are welcome to come into the library and search the databases. The staff at the Information Help desk can assist you.

I checked Stanford libraries and Black Historical Newspapers was not listed. They might have some individual newspapers and you can check their listings here - https://searchworks.stanford.edu/?f%5Bformat_main_ssim%5D%5B%5D=Database&sort=title. If Stanford has any newspapers that interest you, I recommend calling first since I am not certain of their policies regarding non-affiliated researchers. The same is true for UC Berkeley and San Jose State University.

UC Berkeley's list of databases is here - https://guides.lib.berkeley.edu/az.php?a=all.

The San Jose State University database list is here - https://libguides.sjsu.edu/az.php?a=all.

I hope this helps.
