Sources such as wikipedia, news articles, and web pages with links are not regarded as scholarly. If the source is an academic sounding journal (e.g., Journal of Psychology), there is a much greater chance the source is scholarly. In general, you are unlikely to find a scholarly source in the first 10 Google results.
